I was on 7th floor. The rooms are small, bathrooms are smaller and cramped. I am a bit bigger person so I could not shower and use the toilet during my 5 nights stay. No soundproof, you can hear everything from the adjecent rooms and from the corridor. There is only one lift that looks pretty depressed. The only good thing is the metro station that is steps away from the entrance

I thought I would write a review on here as reading up about the area and there being no up to date reviews I was very apprehensive about stopping here with it just being my adult daughter and myself. On arriving at the stop from metro line 4 we were unsure of where the exit nearest to the hotel was so asked a guardsman who promptly directed us and I could see the sign for the hotel straight ahead of us, my daughter did say that a random guy had looked at us but we were not approached. On arrival at the hotel I was thankful to see that all looked “normal “ the lady checking us in was very pleasant and we were directed to our room, I had asked for a twin and both the beds were pushed together, no problem for us at all , we were in a disabled room for some reason but this again wasn’t a problem as that meant we weren’t squashed up in a small shower cubicle, everything looked very clean and seemed to be cleaned daily, the room as many suggested was on the small size but ok for us. Breakfast consisted of mini pastries, yoghurt, mixed fruit salad , boiled or scrambled eggs, toast/bread , small selection of cheese & meats & slices of what looked like carrot cake with seeded edges which my daughter loved, tea & a coffee machine. In the late afternoon on our first evening we ventured out walking to the touristy bit of Montmarte , although we were walking along a street with many ethnic takeaways etc and with seemingly a lot of men, although I felt like my daughter was being stared at we were not approached or jeered at. On the way back my daughter used her maps on her phone for guidance and it by passed all the “dodgy” Road entirely,so my advice would be if you visit sacre Ceour etc from her turn left out of the hotel , you will see a McDonald’s on the corner go up the street facing there & put your maps on then. All in all a lovely stay and the hotel itself is pleasant with lovely staff. One area of concern we caught a bus to the opera area from a stop around 5 mins walk away from the hotel where there was a Sunday market going off , not too bad at around 10am when we set off , but early afternoon when we returned it was total mayhem it was the 95 bus ( I think) , we thought it went to the Sacre Ceour but it did not, the terminus was not far from our hotel where we originally caught the bus going to Opera & I refused to walk back towards the chaos, so we hopped on a number 60 which thankfully got us out of the way , whilst on the bus my daughter noticed a couple ( obviously tourists) like us who had unfortunately got off the original bus we were on amongst all the mayhem & were approached by a young guy that I believe was going to pick pocket the guy but thankfully was shooed away by an older guy, I just pray he wasn’t approached again.

Great budget hotel

I visited Paris with my daughter and I chose this hotel for the price and close access to the metro. Some reviews mentioned the area feeling unsafe…..while it is not in the wealthier area of Paris I never felt unsafe. The area has everything you need for an extended stay - lovely little bakery down the street, a nice bistro, Chez Clara, nearby, grocery stores, several takeaway places where you can get a meal for $10, etc. Apart from one employee, the rest of the staff was super friendly. While we only had the breakfast buffet twice during our stay, it was very good. When I return to Paris I would consider staying here again.

Pros- Great budget hotel not far on the metro from everything you want to see and connections from metro are easy. The room had recently been renovated and really great style and vibe. Clean room with housekeeping everyday Friendly receptionists Cons- Is not in the best area, felt a bit unsafe walking in the dark as a female, although the metro is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel Other parts of the hotel are currently under reservation so the front is covered in scaffolding and bar area is not open Rooms were a bit small but we used this as a base to sleep in and were out all day so perfect for this . Overall a really great choice in Paris if you are looking for somewhere that is relatively cheap .

Great base location and Stay

We visited for my mum's belated 60th birthday. So wanted a nice hotel but because us kids were paying for the whole trip, a lower cost. This Ibis was one of the more affordable but quality looking hotels we found within a decent proximity to central Paris. The location is perfect for getting too and from the city centre and the metro system, however the area its self is very unpleasant when you emerge from the metro and are met with gangs hanging around the station exit stairs. This being said we experienced no trouble or harassment from them, it's just a very intimidating presence. The hotel is literally a stone throw from the metro and its about 6 stops, if that, from Gare Du Nord. So very easy to navigate when first arriving in Paris. There are many eateries and local shops/markets on the door step.( all else fails, 2 mcdonalds) You are literally a 20minute walk from The Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre and the village which is truly Parisian. (Up hill/Steps) The hotel staff were very pleasant and the gentleman who checked us in on arrival had fantastic English, which I was very pleased with as we were early and was able to check in also. The rooms were very basic and the pictures definatly show them for their best, but we had 2 rooms and both were clean, minus odd things like the curtains etc. But bedding was super clean, Towels were clean and bathroom was clean. So all the important parts. The toilet is basically a cupboard, but again it's super clean and en-suite so can't complain, minus slight wears on facilities as standard. Breakfast buffet was continental as expected and all very good quality. 3 types of pastry, multiple bread types, meats and cheeses, eggs, cereals, fruits and yogurt. My only complaint would be not a lot of fruit selection or whole fruits such as apples or bananas. Overall a great stay, I would come back again if I visit Paris in the future.
